Practical Suggestions on HOW to use These therapeutic cards
There's no right or wrong way to "use" these resource cards, but there is potential towards what you might learn from simply downloading/printing them out and seeing the question/statement in black and white. Being open to observing your feelings, responses and reactions could shine a light on areas that are maybe hiding in the shadows. This, in turn, could offer you the opportunity to consider working through and facing them. The cards have been designed to be suitable for a variety of uses, and you may want to adapt and use them in your own natural way to suit your life style. However, if you are unsure of this, below highlights possible examples of how to use them.
Possible WAYS OF WORKING With The Cards
Hold the card in your hand (or just remember the one you've chosen). Close your eyes and take 3 deep breaths. Repeat the question/statement (silently or aloud) to yourself (say a minimum of 3 times), aiming to sustain awareness and connection to the words and your breath. (It's completely understandable if your mind tends to want to wander off, that's ok, just to try to gently bring it back on task). When you're ready, aim to move further emotionally into the feelings/thoughts that might be hovering. Stay with the present situation and explore possibilities to delve deeper into your personal growth process. Follow up with a health professional if needed.
